The Joint Decision Model (JDM)
M/ETHANE reporting
Joint Decision Model
The Joint Decision Model should be used by responders to aide decision making at incidents.
By applying the Joint Decision Model to your decision-making process, it will help to develop shared situational awareness across responders at all levels (see below).
The Command Structure
M/ETHANE Reporting
M/ETHANE is a standard way to share important information about an incident in a clear and consistent way
Each responder organisation should send a M/ETHANE message to their control room who should then share it with relevant responder organisations as soon as possible.
There is always pressure in the very early stages of an incident for accurate information. This responsibility often falls to the emergency responders arriving first at the scene. M/ETHANE is now a standard reporting process that is used by all responder organisations.
We will now go into M/ETHANE more detail
