It is important to establish learning points at the earliest opportunity whilst things are still fresh in people’s minds.
It is recommended that Incident Commanders and Managers hold an initial debrief with their staff as soon as possible after the event.
Multi-agency debriefs involving all responder organisations can then take place at a later date.
