Connect your device to your computer
Go to AWTRIX 3, use the Ulanzi Flasher
Click CONNECT
Select the COM port for the device
Select CONNECT
Select INSTALL AWTRIX 3
Select ERASE, then NEXT
INSTALL
After flashing, the now AWTRIX device will open an access point with the name awtrix_XXXXX.
Connect to it from your mobile device, PW 12345678.
On your mobile device with the wifi connected to the AWTRIX AP, open a browser and navigate to http://192.168.4.1.
Go to the WiFi Setup tab
Enter your WiFi information, Save Configuration and Restart ESP.
Your clock is accessible on your home wifi via the IP address you see at boot.
After flashing, the now AWTRIX device will open an access point with the name awtrix_XXXXX.
Connect to the WiFi Access Pointit from your mobile device, PW 12345678.
On your mobile device with the WiFi connected to the AWTRIX AP, open a browser and navigate to http://192.168.4.1.
Go to the WiFi Setup tab
Enter your WiFi information
Save Configuration
Restart ESP.
Your clock is accessible on your home WiFi via the IP address you see at boot.
Make sure your MQTT integration is installed and configured on your Home Assistant instance
Go to HACS
Download AWTRIX Repo
Go to integrations and add AWTRIX
On a device/machine connected to your WiFi, go to the IP of your AWTRIX device seen at boot
Configure Time
Go to the Time tab and update your time zone according to this time zone config
ex: NYC is EST5EDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0
Save Configuration
MQTT
Go the MQTT tab, fill in the info of your Home Assistant MQTT:
Broker, Port, Username, Password, Prefix ***(device topic, case sensitive)***
Toggle on “Home Assistant Discovery”
Save Configuration
Restart ESP
Go to MQTT integration and confirm you now see your AWTRIX device
Once you find the device, click on it
Click the pencil
Change the name to the prefix name you gave it:
ex. Matrix (CASE SHOULD MATCH WHAT YOU PUT IN THE AWTRIX MQTT config for Prefix)
Go to Developer tools > Actions
For Action, choose awtrix.notification
Select your AWTRIX device (whatever was the prefix you gave it in the AWTRIX MQTT portal)
Check “Message Text”, Type in some message for yourself
Select “Perform Action”
Verify your AWTRIX Device shows your message
PLAY! Play around with the various options for sending messages in different ways
Disable stock apps
Go to developer tools, actions, awtrix.settings
Choose your AWTRIX device on top
Scroll down to enable date app, enable humidity app, enable temperature app, enable battery app.
Check all and do not set the toggle
Send the call
Restart the device
On the Portal
Log into the IP of the awtrix device and restart like you did before on the WifFi Setup or MQTT page
On the device
Hold left and right to turn it OFF
Hold left and right to turn it ON
Home Assistant
Go to Developer tools > Actions
Select awtrix.deep_sleep
Choose the device
Fill in seconds to sleep 1
Send the call
Device will turn OFF and ON
