I carry out field-based research at the intersection of language, culture, cognition & emotion.Â
My work focuses primarily on the Maniq, a mobile hunter-gatherer group of Southern Thailand. I have also done research with two other hunter-gatherer groups in Mainland Southeast Asia: (1) Mlabri of Northern Thailand and Laos, and (2) Kentaq (or Kintaq) of Malaysia.
My interests include cross-cultural diversity in emotion and perception, hunter-gatherer studies, lexico-semantic typology, and Southeast Asian linguistics.
