My capstone project, To Imitate Life, is a 7 chapter WebToon comic that follows a journalist investigating the brutal destruction of a Proxy. She interviews various people involved in the case and their testimonies blur the lines for whether or not this case was murder or vandalism. The journalist is left trying to figure out how to write a story on this crime when the meaning of harm and benefit are shaped as much by human bias as by objective truth.
This project focused on the production of a series of dust jackets that would work as a system for the book Bad Cree by Jessica Johns. These dust jackets, in order, follow the series of events that occur throughout the book.
For this project, we were assigned to design an album cover for local jazz musicians. Our goal was to create a design that was rooted in ambiguity while also embracing exploration and growth.
This project was a term long effort to create a parent brand along with three sub-brands. Brand systems were created as well as their brand identities. Creative Juices is the parent brand of Creative Sparks, Creativitea, and Creative Threads. The goal was to make products that target creatives and working class people with products that help refresh or relax them after a long day's work. Each product also showcases creative works on the packaging to reinforce the audience and community the brand fosters.
This project was focused on taking an existing business and creating or redesigning their brand identity. This focused on the Old Strathcona Antique Mall and refreshed their brand with bold, fun visuals that would
catch eyes of all audiences.
This project was a self directed short film that dabbled into the unsettling and liminal space aesthetic. This was scripted, filmed, and edited by me with the help of a few friends in the filming process.
This project got into the realms of storytelling. We were tasked to choose from a one word story, poem, or song to focus on creating a sequential narrative off of. I chose the song Curse of the Fold by Shawn James and wrote a narrative of a man who takes revenge on the people who caused his scars.
This was an Illustration project that focused on choosing from a list of idioms to eventually illustrate an image that represents that specific idiom.
This project aimed to make a logo for a person I am close to. The guidelines would allow them to use this logo in their every day life, or even the colours or imagery associated with the brand.
This project was focused on creating a brand identity for a fictional business. In this case, it was Ryori; a farm to table Japanese food business where people can cook at home with ease.
In this project, our goal was to create a brand identity for a product that was randomly selected for us, then create an ad campaign for that brand. I had coffee, and my brand, Reverie, is meant to make the users feel like movie stars while drinking it. Inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood, these ads would reminisce on those iconic styles.
The goal of this project was to make an ad campaign as a PSA on a social issue. I chose emotional manipulation, and created several ads to make people more aware of the signs of emotional manipulation, with my fake client being Crisis Text Line. I created this poster series, as well as a billboard, bus, and handout ad to make this campaign.
For this project, I tracked the local cats of my neighbourhood and documented the times I saw them, the times they were normally seen, and
their territorial behaviour.
In this project, we were tasked to create an infographic that showcased the provincial data for wildfires within Alberta and British Columbia.
