The Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Ph.D.) program of Eastern Visayas State University was designed to provide knowledge and competences for the professional growth needs of educational managers in Region 8, Philippines. It provides intensive exposure to the foundations of education as well as the theories, principles and techniques, and the role of research in the operation and management of educational systems.

The Graduate School Building houses the Office of the Dean, the Function Hall, GS Learning Commons, classrooms as well as other administrative offices and academic facilities. The Neo-Roman edifice is located in the mid-campus of Eastern Visayas State University in Tacloban City.

From its inception up to the present, the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) curriculum of EVSU had been making an impact on educational managers not only in the Philippines but also those that are based abroad.
Among the notable alumni of the program are Presidents and Key Officials of State Universities and Colleges, National Executives, R&D Managers, Regional Directors, Superintendents, Supervisors, Principals and School Heads of the Department of Education as well as serving in the Top Management of various private educational institutions.
This is aside from the hundreds of Ph.D. graduates who faithfully carry with them the values and competencies that the EVSU Graduate School instilled in their professions. These are the proud outputs of the program who regularly took the reins of authority and served as Educational Program Managers both in administrative operations and academic functions of the school systems in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.
