"I didn't have the highest of expectations for this team, especially after spring," English-language LPL caster Robert "Dagda" Price said. "Bin and [top laner Lin "Biubiu" Lei-Xin] at that stage were two of the worst performing top laners in the LPL. Suning were not a team that could play front-to-back teamfights particularly well, which was the meta in spring. They really struggled to set up engages properly, and their fights often devolved into spread-out skirmishes that relied on the individual skill of the players to outperform."

The history of the Chinese New Year festival can be traced back to about 3,500 years ago. Chinese New Year has evolved over a long period of time and its customs have undergone a long developmental process.

As it turns out, although we've been lighting fireworks for the last 2000 years or so, modern fireworks were only invented in the 1830s -- so, what were they like before then? When Henry VII had fireworks at his wedding in 1486, how did they look? How have fireworks and the science behind them evolved throughout history?

The Chinese dragon, also known as the loong, long or lung (simplified Chinese: ; traditional Chinese: ; pinyin: lng), is a legendary creature in Chinese mythology, Chinese folklore, and Chinese culture at large. Chinese dragons have many animal-like forms such as turtles and fish, but are most commonly depicted as snake-like with four legs. Academicians have identified four reliable theories on the origin of the Chinese dragon: snakes, Chinese alligators, thunder worship and nature worship.[1] They traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water.[2]

From its origins as totems or the stylized depiction of natural creatures, the Chinese dragon evolved to become a mythical animal. The Han dynasty scholar Wang Fu recorded Chinese myths that long dragons had nine anatomical resemblances.

In coastal regions of China, Korea, Vietnam, traditional legends and worshipping of whales (whale gods) as the guardians of people on the sea have been referred to Dragon Kings after the arrival of Buddhism.[22]

According to Chinese legend, both Chinese primogenitors, the earliest Door and the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi), were closely related to 'Long' (Chinese dragon). At the end of his reign, the first legendary ruler, the Yellow Emperor, was said to have been immortalized into a dragon that resembled his emblem, and ascended to Heaven. The other legendary ruler, the Yan Emperor, was born by his mother's telepathy with a mythical dragon. Since the Chinese consider the Yellow Emperor and the Yan Emperor as their ancestors, they sometimes refer to themselves as "the descendants of the dragon". This legend also contributed towards the use of the Chinese dragon as a symbol of imperial power.[citation needed]

In some Chinese legends, an emperor might be born with a birthmark in the shape of a dragon. For example, one legend tells the tale of a peasant born with a dragon birthmark who eventually overthrows the existing dynasty and founds a new one; another legend might tell of the prince in hiding from his enemies who is identified by his dragon birthmark.[citation needed]

At the end of each set, players will receive rewards based on their performance in rank. One of the rewards is an exclusive little legend. The first two seasons did not have Triumphant skins, however, due to the change to two splits per set happening in Season 3. Getting Gold or above in at least one half of the set will reward the Victorious skin, and getting Gold or above in both halves rewards both.

According to legend, Chinese martial arts originated before the semi-mythical Xia Dynasty over 4,000 years ago. It is said that the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi), who ascended to power in 2698 BCE, introduced the earliest fighting systems to China. The Yellow Emperor is renowned as a great general who, prior to becoming China's leader, authored extensive treatises on medicine, astrology, and the martial arts. One of his primary adversaries was Chi You, credited as the progenitor of jiao di, a precursor to modern Chinese wrestling.[citation needed]

Between the 16th and 17th centuries, at least forty sources exist to provide evidence both that monks of Shaolin practiced martial arts, and that martial practice became an integral element of Shaolin monastic life. The earliest appearance of the frequently cited legend concerning Bodhidharma's supposed foundation of Shaolin Kung Fu dates to this period.[14] The origin of this legend has been traced to the Ming period's Yijin Jing or "Muscle Change Classic", a text written in 1624 attributed to Bodhidharma.

Some styles draw inspiration from animal movements, replicating the agility and power of creatures such as tigers, snakes, or monkeys. Others derive their inspiration from Chinese philosophies, myths, and legends, incorporating their principles and symbolism into their techniques. Certain styles place significant emphasis on harnessing and manipulating qi, while others prioritize competitive aspects, focusing on sparring and tournaments.

Waves of European immigrants brought St. Nicholas's holiday tradition to America. By the end of the 18th century, St. Nicholas was recognized by American culture. In December of 1773 and December of 1774, it was reported that groups of Dutch families in New York gathered to honor the anniversary of Nicholas's death. The name, Santa Claus, was stated to evolve from Nick's Dutch nickname, Sinter Klaas, a shortened form of Sint Nikolaas, which is translated as the Dutch name for St. Nicholas.

Because human evolution is often a stumbling block for accepting evolution, creationist legends about paleoanthropology are persistent. Three such legends, according to which paleoanthropology is based on finds that are admittedly fraudulent (Piltdown) or unadmittedly fraudulent (Peking), or is contravened by neglected finds (Paluxy), are critically discussed.

One legend held that a lion that fell in love with a marmoset monkey begged the gods to shrink him down in size so that his love could be requited. The transformation complete, his heart remained the same size.

Magikarp is a small, fish-like Pokmon. It is primarily reddish orange in color, but has yellow fins and whiskers. Magikarp is based on a carp, but it also embodies a popular motif in Chinese mythology: according to legend, a carp that leaps over the Dragon Gate will transform into a dragon.

Magikarp is known for being one of the weakest Pokmon, with poor stats and its most prominent move being Splash, which does nothing. However, when it evolves, like the legend it turns into the dragon-like Pokmon Gyarados.

As with many ancient foods, the history of sushi is surrounded by legends and folklore. In an ancient Japanese wives tale, an elderly woman began hiding her pots of rice in osprey nests, fearing that thieves would steal them. Over time, she collected her pots and found the rice had begun to ferment. She also discovered that fish scraps from the ospreys meal had mixed into the rice. Not only was the mixture tasty, the rice served as a way of preserving the fish, thus starting a new way of extending the shelf life of seafood.

This game is basically a port of Pokmon FireRed & LeafGreen and Yellow mixed together with some changes to it. It appears to be ported with FireRed & LeafGreen in mind (all the attacks, the TM/HM list, and the types (Magnemite and Magneton are Electric/Steel and Dark moves exist), although almost all the Sevii Islands weren't kept but reworked to match Yellow's storyline. However, the intro involving catching Pikachu is missing and Pikachu just acts like any normal Pokmon. The overworld graphics primarily use FireRed & LeafGreen graphics with some graphics from Ruby & Sapphire and the Game Boy port of Harvest Moon as well. The in-battle graphics use the FireRed & LeafGreen's male trainer's back sprite but all the Pokmon and opponents use sprites from Gold & Silver (with the exception of the Ruby & Sapphire legendaries and any NPCs that weren't in Gold and Silver which used Yellow's sprites instead.); all of the Pokmon's front sprites are animated with most of them switching back and forth between their Gold and Silver sprites. All of the music from the game is actually from Ruby and Sapphire and the layouts on some maps were completely changed. Strangely enough, despite the mechanics being based off of FireRed and LeafGreen, the level up movesets all appear to be based off of Gold and Silver instead. Another addition to the game is the inclusion of Gold and Silver legendaries (except for Celebi) as well as the weather trio from Ruby and Sapphire. Despite this being based off of Yellow Version, all of the Pokmon excluded from the original game still appear here in the port. e24fc04721
