I'm currently pursuing my Master's in Environmental and Conservation Sciences at NDSU. In 2023, I earned my B.A. in Biology, Environmental Studies, and Philosophy from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Throughout my undergraduate years, I worked in multiple labs, exploring the impacts of water stress and herbivory on milkweed habitat range, as well as studying the genetic manipulation of sorghum leaf angle. My primary focus lies in plant ecology and evolution. For my thesis, I'm interested in analyzing the pollination networks of the Western Prairie Fringed Orchid (Platanthera praeclara), aiming to understand its ecological role in our prairies.

I have always been passionate about conservation and preserving our natural resources for generations to come. That’s why studying the endangered Western Prairie Fringed Orchid is of such interest to me. My project will focus on the reproductive constraints of this plant and what happens when plants get rare! While studying the orchid, I will be completing my Master’s degree at NDSU in the Environmental and Conservation Sciences program. I completed my undergraduate degree back in 2020 at the University of Wisconsin Superior and University of Alaska Anchorage. Since then, I have had a variety of environmental jobs involving vegetation monitoring and management. I am excited to put my fieldwork skills to the test while gathering important data for land managers and helping to bridge the gap between academic research and management.
