We are happy to share the first in a series of ten short articles arising from the work presented on May 13: "Long-term Care - At what cost, to whom? Understanding the Costs of Institutional vs. Home-based Long-term Care"
The purpose of this work was to learn what research was available to understand cost accounting for operating long-term care beds in institutional and home-based settings.
The project funded by the SPOR Evidence Alliance was titled,
"Cost-effectiveness of home care versus assisted living facilities for individuals requiring additional supports”
We are sharing out this work in hopes that you will share it with family, friends and colleagues; anyone you know whose life or work is impacted by the current crisis in caregiving infrastructure.
Please do not hesitate to share your story, your interest, or your experience of long-term care, whether the care operation was in an institutional or a home-based setting.
We look forward to leading innovations to improve outcomes for long-term caregiving across the domain of caregiving operations.
