Luke Bakken (Sr): Following a breakout season last year that saw him earning all-state honors in both cross country and in track, the latter of which he set 2 school records in the 1600 (4:13) and 3200 (9:14), Luke is looking forward to carrying that momentum forward this year. Holds the honorable distinction of falling on runs more often than any athlete in team history.
Evan Crosby (Jr): Set a new personal best in the 5k in 2025 of 21:22, and after moving up to the 2-mile during the track season and building even greater strength in his legs, is excited to continue to see improvements into the 2026 season. Will face competition this year for the most band references on his t-shirts from some of the freshmen.
Tyler Henry (Jr): This will be Tyler’s 3rd season of running cross country. In 2026 he worked his way down to a 23 second PR of 21:43.7. This upcoming season continues to look to improve while helping his new teammates. Also known as Kiernan Lees protégé and is looking forward to being tormented but Coach Fusco in math class.
Aryan Karimnejad (Jr): This will be Aryan's first year of running cross country at Eastview. Aryan has been an active member of Eastview's wrestling program, racking up 21 career wins so far which puts him on place to hit the 50 career win milestone by his senior year.
Reed Munson (Jr): A pivotal member of Eastview’s Science Olympiad and math teams where his hard work has been rewarded with trips to state competitions. Reed has brought that same work ethic to his summer training and is looking forward to cracking the 19 min barrier. Established PRs of 19:06 (5k), 2:15 (800m), and 5:17 (1600m) during the 2025-2026 school year, and received his Eagle Scout award.
Ruben Price (Jr): This will be Ruben’s first year of cross country after running track his freshman and sophomore years. He has been a leader in the middle-distance group making steady progress his first two years; and is hoping to use cross country to accelerate that improvement. Has been seen playing games all spanish class.
Owen Sampson (Jr): In his first season of running cross country last fall Owen established himself as a top runner in the conference and section. After a summer of hard work, he is looking to making the jump to the state level this fall. Returns with a 5k PR of 15:57, 800m 1:56, and 1600m of 4:30. Owen Sampson believes he is the best pickleball player on the team and is yet to be silenced by Cooper Peplinski.
Saabir Bayer (So): This is Saabir's first year of cross country after competing in track during his freshman spring. He boasts track PRs of 2:18 (800m), 5:05 (1600m), and 11:24 (3200m).
Brady Bill (So): Finished the 2025 season as an alternate for the Lightning’s state cross country team with a PR of 18:49. And, after experimenting with the nocturnal lifestyle over the summer, Brady is ready to make the jump into the top 7 this year.
Weston Dahlmeir (So): One of our brand new drivers to join the cross-country team this fall. Bumpers have put up around the parking lots, and local officials have told us it is a safe environment now. This will be Weston’s first year of cross country after a breakout track season which saw him run a 4:42 1600m (4th fastest freshman in school history), and he is looking forward to carrying that success into the cross-country season. Rhys Haight (So): After shaking off an early injury in 2025 made steady progress throughout the fall with a 5k PR of 19:14. Continued this strong performance in track with a 1600m of 5:01. Offers free dating advice to members of the sophomore class whose game does not reach Rhys’ level. Street name: Rice
Ethan Hegy (So): Found success this track season running a 400 PR of 56 seconds, and the 11th fastest freshmen 800 time in school history (2:09.61). Discovered that the secret fuel to his success was eating 7 course meals consisting mostly of candy and is hoping that this discovery will continue to fuel him through the cross-country season. He has also stated he can go sub 5 in the mile before Rhys Haight. Formerly known as the savior of CB elite. Street name: The Guide
Levi Johnson (So): Levi is joining the cross country from a career in soccer, and has been spotted flexing on coach Fusco's Rubik's cube solving abilities. Levi does not know what else to add, other than has officially announced that cross country is harder than soccer.
Wes Johnson (So): Had a highly successful freshman year as an alternate for Eastview’s state cross country team with a 5k pr of 18:38, running the 8th fastest freshman 800 in school history (2:07), and breaking 5 min in the mile (4:52). Street name: Wes Chedder - if you think about crossing him think again, he will run you down.
Austin Larsen (So): Can always be found guarding the right flank of warm-up drills keeping a wary eye out for the team. Conscientious and scrupulous, brings his leadership and experience back for a second year and looking to drop his 5k from 19:24 to under 19min this season. Street name: Lil blondie
Bodey Loberg (So): Following hockey and Lacrosse seasons (and a brief stint runnign with the bulls in Spain), Bodey is returning to the cross-country fields eager to make his presence felt. Holds a personal best time of 18:51 from 9th grade. Street name: Bods
Charlie Nelson (So): Founding member of the Sophomore New Driver Demolition Team, he is also the teller of the tallest tales on the team, this will be Charlie’s second year of running. Dealt with injury throughout a long portion of his freshman season but was able to run a strong 1:30 PR at the conference meet of 22:24. Street name: Frenchie
Cooper Peplinski (So): Completed a highly successful freshman year with a varsity spot on the 2025 state cross country team, and track PRs of 2:06 in the 800m, and 4:43 in the 1600m, both of which rank him as the 5th fastest freshman in school history. After a summer of consistent work, Cooper takes pride in his savior (aka his mom) not allowing him to get a buzz cut for going to state (thanks mom)! Street name: Pep
Cooper Schwartz (So): After a 1-year break from cross country after competing at Falcon Ridge Middle School to try football, Cooper is returning to the green fields this fall. Street name: Lil C
Zach Sulzbach (So): Zack has taken his talents from the Lacrosse field to the XC courses for his second year. Enjoys golfing in his free time and is looking to improve his golfing skills along with his running. As Zack does run cross country, it does make him the better twin (no offense Luke) and this is non-negotiable. Street name: Big Z
Isaak Taylor (So): Returning this fall after a 3-sport year of cross country, nordic skiing and track & field. Isaak has goals of being the fastest Taylor in the family and, after setting a new PR in every track race this spring, he now has his eyes set on continuing this trend in track.
James Townsley (So): This is James first year of running cross country after competing as a sprinter during the track season. We look forward to seeing him take on a new challenge this fall.
Max Winebrenner (So): After one season he has dethroned the previous tallest members of Eastview’s team to reign supreme over all others. After finishing up spring and summer baseball seasons, with some pretty wicked fastballs, he now brings his talents back to the cross country course for a second year, looking to continue to improve on his 5k PR of 19:48. Street name: Inspector Gadget
Joshua Yamanaka (So): This Josh's first year of competing in cross country or track since the glory days at Falcon Ridge Middle School during 7th grade. An avid baseball player, fisherman and defeater of Max Winebrenner at golf. Josh is looking to grow his talents this fall.
Henry Zoch (So): One of the rarest sites in the wild is when you are able to catch a fleeting glimpse of the elusive ‘hatless’ Henry Zoch. So rare, that the first time he had to race, and wasn’t wearing a hat his coaches didn’t recognize him. Has been able to run each and every cross-country race faster than the last, finishing his freshman year with a PR of 20:39. Looking to see the PR trend continue into 2027. Street name: Zoch
Hamza Abshir (Fr): Graduate from Scott Highlands Middle School where he slept, woke, learned, doom scrolled, and repeated. He boasts a 1600m PR of 5:16.85
Miles Burnham (Fr): Graduate of Black Hawk Middle School, Miles has had a positive start to the year. "The best love...Is the one that make you a better person withou changing you....into someon other than yourself." (Utopia)
Anish Ganesh (Fr): A veteran of the Eastview summer running program where he has regular kept up with the older runners. Anish is looking to make his mark this year in cross country after finishing off his middle school career at Black Hawk. Anish is also an avid tennis player.
Aiden Glass (Fr): Graduate from Falcon Ridge Middle School where he had a stellar 8th grade year setting PRs in the 1600 of 4:46 and an 800m PR of 2:11. Aiden owns quite the extensive, and eccentric, self portrait collection on Strava where all the girls can be found.
Adam Goolsby (Fr): This will be Adam’s first year of running cross country after competing as a track athlete at Scott Highlands Middle School, where he tried nearly every event on the track. Hoping his versatility transfers over to the cross country course. "It does not matter how far you go as long as you don't stop."
Leo Heinen (Fr): Graduated from Falcon Ridge Middle School. Leo will be cooking it up in the classroom and on the course this fall. Was spotted at New Student Orientation at least one time.
Landon Johnson (Fr): Joining Eastview from Scott Highlands Middle School where he was a member of the track program competing in nearly every single event at least once…except the throws for some reason. Also, is the only member of the team capable of landing a back flip.
Dexter Miller (Fr): After competing in track and field at Falcon Ridge Middle School, primarily in the 800m and 1600m, Dexter is making the jump into cross country this fall hoping to make a splash!
Alex Opshal (Fr): Alex was a steady presence at the summer running club and hoping that his hard work helps set new personal bests from his achievements at Scott Highlands Middle School. Has a 6+ year streak of wearing a red piece of clothing.
Breckston Overby (Fr): Competed in track and field and cross country during 8th grade at Scott Highlands, where he snuck under the 6 minute barrier in the 1600m setting a personal best time of 5:59.98. Has never popped a wheely!
Daniel Trejo (Fr): IHOP employee of the month where its always his birthday! Has been seen passing the Flash at the end of his cross country racer.
