cOMMANDER'S MESSAGE

The Youth Flying Club in Evergreen Secondary School (EVG YFC) was formed in 2003. EVG YFC, in collaboration with the Singapore Youth Flying Club (SYFC), aims to promote an interest in aviation and develop a passion for flying through aeromodelling. To date, we have a total of 52 members. 

EVG YFC has an excellent track record of 5 consecutive Inter-School Competition Overall Championship from \insert year. Just like all other schools and CCAs, we were not spared from the COVID-19 pandemic. Our CCA activities were greatly disrupted when COVID hit us in April 2021. 

Following physical CCA resumption in smaller groups after restrictions were progressively lifted last year,  EVG YFC underwent an internal CCA restructure to ensure sustainability in the CCA. One key change is the organisation structure of the student leadership team. It's my great honour to lead the first Command Team (previously known as EXCO) as its Commander, overseeing the implementation of many new systems and processes. 

The Command Team has put in great effort to meet biweekly for Commander's Meeting to review all past CCA sessions to ensure subsequent trainings are productive. Since taking up our appointment, the Command Team has met for a total of 16 Commander's Meeting, propelling our CCA to greater heights, which would have been impossible without the guidance and support of our teachers and instructor. My team and I are grateful to be the first team of Commanders of the restructured Command Team and for the many opportunities given to learn many important life skills throughout the last 8 months.

During my tenure as the Commander of EVG YFC, the Command Team introduced the 1-year Cadet's Training Program to provide a structured fundamental training for all our Year 1 members. As we enter the new year, I hope that our new members will benefit from the program and will enjoy your time in this CCA. For the incoming Command Team, I hope you would continue to progress the CCA, and let it soar to even greater heights!

Being involved in the restructure first-hand, the Command Team has benefited greatly and learnt many practical skills, such as the functions of Google Sheets and Google Docs. Before we step down, we are rolling out EVG YFC's Google Site to engage the rest of our members in this CCA. Here, you will be able to find information about your division and general announcements for the whole CCA. There are still many more things you will be able to explore, such as the Buddy System!
