Ashley has worked in education and equity for 12+ years. After advising at a project-based school and teaching high school social studies, she began her journey as a social equity coordinator. She has led presentations, professional development, and book studies for school districts and businesses. Now, Ashley works at UW - La Crosse as the Director for the Center for Transformative Justice. There, she leads campus climate research, provides bias support and education, promotes civil discourse, and facilitates social justice workshops/presentations.
Her sociology degree helps her reflect upon and challenge systems and procedures. After obtaining her B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Ashley earned her Masters degree in Education. Since, she continues on her own quest to continually learn and grow by attending countless diversity and inclusion workshops throughout the Midwest. Ashley has also obtained a certificate in Inclusive Classroom Practices, concluded Title IX training through the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, participated in the 2022 YWCA Racial Justice Workshop and currently serves as a board member for the La Crosse Area Diversity Council.
Beyond her work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family including her partner and two young children. You can find her walking, hiking, or running in her free time. She also loves to read, especially historical fiction and memoirs.
