Improve your ability to think on the spot with Giant Clam!

Join ETC in this illuminating workshop to uncover the mystery of just what all those buttons and sliders on the light board actually do. Use these skills to then design and program theatrical lighting looks on Evergreen's own Recital Hall Stage.
Week 5 | Thursday, May 1st

This workshop is for experienced theatre folks who are interested in bridging the gap between the work you have done, and the work of a director. In this discussion-based setting, come learn about all the intricacies of the directing process, get questions answered, and find out what it takes to be ETC’s next director!

Join us at ETC to learn about the historical Italian form of theatre, Commedia Dell’arte, with certified teacher Jabali Trippsmith. If you’re interested in comedy, improv, or history, this is the perfect workshop for you!

Week 6 | Saturday, May 10th

Are you curious about how actors make informed character choices from moment to moment in monologues and scripts? Come to this workshop to find out! Join ETC in this three hour acting master class. Dig into emotional and acting beats, and learn how to make the strongest choices for you and your character.
Week 7 | Thursday, May 15th

Deepen your authentic storytelling and acting skills and apply them with strength to your sung performances. Come prepared with a musical theatre song of your choice, and learn how to make powerful connections with your material and your audience. Workshop techniques you can then apply to future auditions and performances.
Workshops are held most Fridays, from 3pm-5pm.
Week 2 - October 11th

Intro to Lighting, taught by local designer Elijah Bellis, is a workshop for any who want to learn more about the role of lighting in a theatrical production. Perfect for both new designers and seasoned technicians, participants will go over the steps in the design process, learn the basic functions of a light board, and learn how to create many different lighting looks on a stage in a hands-on experience.
Week 3 - October 18th

Say YES to putting down your script AND participating in this beginner level improv workshop! This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of all improv scenes and how to support your fellow actors. What a low stakes way to have fun and make new friends!
Week 4 - October 25th

Are you interested in stage management or want to improve your skills? Join Katie Peck, a local stage manager, for a fun workshop on Friday, October 25, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM!
This workshop will give you a chance to learn about what a stage manager does in a theatrical production. From handling paperwork to calling the show, we’ll cover a bit of everything! Whether you’re just starting out or want to brush up on your skills, this is a great opportunity to pick up tips and connect with others who love theater. Don’t miss it!
Week 6 - October 8th
COM 209 ~ 3pm-5pm
Join ETC and experienced dancer and choreographer Amita Devarajan for a fun and simple introduction to dance! Whether you've danced before or you haven't yet mustered the courage to give it a go, this workshop will help you feel more comfortable and confident as you move—both on stage and off! The workshop includes 3 different pieces of choreography, but won't be fast paced or complex. All you need to worry about is doing what you can and having some fun!
Week 7 - November 15th
COM 332 ~ 3pm-5pm
Costuming is fundamental to visualize characters during a theatre performance. Without knowing how to sew, it would be difficult to bring your designs to life and on a stage. This Evergreen Theatre Club workshop, lead by Ella Colwell and Rain Roudabush, will teach you the basics of sewing by hand. By the end of this workshop, you will know how alter and fix clothes, costumes and your own garments included. We will cover different types of stitches, how to form fit, and more. Feel free to bring your own clothes that need minor alteration(s)! Otherwise, t-shirts and other sewing supplies will be provided.
Week 8 - November 22nd

Get ready for ETC's winter quarter musical by practicing your audition materials in this casual workshop environment. Get used to how it feels to perform in front of an audience, celebrate yourself and your peers, and receive as much or as little feed back as you'd like.
