This page will guide through the auditioning process and schedule for Evergreen Valley College's Fall 2025 semester production of Evergreen Stories: 50 Years of Life, Laughter, and Learning. Please note that if you are given a role in the play you will be required to enroll in THEAT 035A Sec 201. We hope to see you at the auditions!
Auditions Process and Schedule for Evergreen Stories at EVC
Register for a Class and Perform in a Play!
This fall we will be producing an original production called Evergreen Stories: 50 Years of Life, Laughter, and Learning. The play celebrates EVC's 50 year anniversary and focuses on the lives and experiences of various EVC community members, telling the stories of what makes our campus great.
The director/course instructor, John Kaufmann, will have potential characters, a general plot structure, and multiple stories planned. The specific characters and how the scenes evolve will depend on who auditions and joins the cast. Students will get college credit, gain confidence and develop acting skills as they rehearse and perform this play.
Steps to Get Involved:
Register: for THEAT-035A-201(127666): Performance in Production A
Note: It helps us prepare if you register before you audition, but you are welcome to audition even if you are not registered. You would just need to register before we could cast you in the show.
Fill out the Audition Form: All auditioners should fill out this brief audition form so we have all your info.
Attend Auditions: Monday, August 25th or Tuesday, August 26th from 6:00-8:00 PM in EVC's Performing Arts Theater. This is where the instructor will get to know you. You don’t need to prepare anything for the audition. Just show up ready to move and play.
Attend Callbacks on Wednesday, August 27th from 6:00-8:00 PM. Everybody will be called back. This is where the director figures out how you might fit into the play.
Find out your Role: By 10AM on Thursday August 28th, the director will let you know if there is a role for you in the production.
Attend Rehearsals starting on Friday, August 29th: Regular Rehearsal Times:
Fridays from 9:00 AM-3:05 PM
Tuesday evenings from 6:00 - 9:05 PM
Additional Rehearsal on Thursday, Nov. 13th from 6:00 PM - 9:05 PM (to prepare for opening!)
Perform in the Play! Invite your family and friends to see you perform! Performances will be:
Wednesday, November 19th at 4:00 PM (3 PM actor call, TBD: pending actor availability)
Thursday November 20th at 11:00 AM (10 AM actor call)
Friday, November 21st at 7PM (6PM Actor call)
Saturday, November 22nd at 2PM (1PM Actor call) AND 7PM (6PM Actor call)
Final class meeting and "Strike" will be on Tuesday, November 25th from 6:00 PM-8:50 PM
