Hi everyone! My name is Amer-Sebastian Plesa, and I’m an Economics student at FIU running to be your Everglades Hall President. Having lived in Romania, Qatar, Azerbaijan, and the UAE, I’ve grown up surrounded by different cultures, perspectives, and communities. Moving between countries taught me how to adapt quickly, connect with new people, and most importantly, make an unfamiliar place feel like home.

Outside of academics, I’m a huge sports fan and love cycling, basketball, and staying active. I’ve also been involved in student government and leadership throughout my school years, including serving in student leadership roles and organizing events and initiatives for my school community.

I’m running for Hall President because I want to bring that same energy to Everglades. I want our dorm to be more than just a place where we sleep; it should be a community where everyone feels welcome, gets involved, and has a voice. I’m excited to meet everyone, hear your ideas, and make our time at FIU as memorable as possible!
