Everest Base Camp Trek Difficulty Level

Everest base camp trek distance Difficult. This trek's highest point is 5360m for EBC and 5555m for Kala Patthar. These are not to be taken lightly. The EBC route is long, and the hike to Kala Patthar is quite steep.

I would not recommend the EBC trek to first-timers. Before attempting Everest Base Camp, one should ideally have completed 4500m to 5000m high-altitude treks.

Physical fitness is required for the trek to Everest Base Camp.

Even experienced trekkers may find the Mount everest base camp trek  exhausting, as they must walk long distances every day. Each day will consist of continuous ascents and descents before arriving at your destination for the day.

For 1-2 months before the trek, it is recommended to follow a regular workout routine that includes heavy cardio and strength training.

When is the best time to trek to Everest Base Camp?

The peak trekking seasons for EBC are April-May and October-November, when the skies are generally clear and the views are spectacular.

If you want to avoid crowds, go trekking in late March, early June, or early December. The weather may not be ideal at the time, but it may be your best bet if you want to enjoy some "ME" time in the mountains.

Everest Base Camp Trek Accommodation

There are countless tea houses on the EBC route. Tea houses can also be found in intermediate locations. You can conveniently walk until your body allows you to, and when you want to stop, there should be a tea house nearby.

The tea houses offer single and double rooms with shared toilets and showers for NPR 250-500. These low rates come with the requirement that you purchase your meals from their restaurant. If you do not, they may charge you more

The tea houses charge for hot showers, drinking water, wi-fi, and charging, and they are very strict about it.
