Contemporary Issues in Real Estate Markets (REST 550)
This graduate-level course is focused on equity investment in commercial real estate through indirect vehicles, especially Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Listed REITs have grown to exceed $US1 trillion in equity market capitalization and represent an important part of the U.S. commercial real estate market. Students use fundamental concepts from corporate finance and investments to analyze the REIT industry and the firms within it.
Real Estate Colloquium (REST 890)
The graduate-level colloquium is a series of seminars including sessions with faculty, student presentations, and talks by outside speakers from industry and academia. Students immerse themselves in current topics in commercial real estate investment practice and research. The colloquium emphasizes applied research and analytical skills to students in their development as informed users and independent producers of investment-relevant research.
