As a reservist second lieutenant in the Army, I served for five years as an intelligence analyst. I produced reports on the political and security situation in Iraq and Syria, mapping the activities of governmental and non-governmental militias.
As a senior political and security risk analyst at Standard & Poor's Global, I have four years’ experience in assessing threats posed by non-state armed groups and armed forces in Mozambique and Tanzania, including the risks of arbitrary detention. My work was requested by The Economist and a US embassy, and cited by the government of Spain, the Counter-Terrorism Centre of Excellence (funded by Germany and the UNODC), Voice of America, VT Actual, and local press.
As an expert witness, I provide country of origin analysis for a wide range of asylum cases, including political persecution, arbitrary detention, risks from armed groups and state security forces, military desertion, and broader human rights violations. My reports are tailored, structured, and evidence based. In complex cases, I include bespoke maps to illustrate armed group control and risk zones.
