Registering With and Using Employ Florida (EF)
Step 1: The Registration Process Go to www.employflorida.com click “Not Registered,” located on upper right side of page Then click “Individual” Read agreement, Check off understanding box and click “I Agree” to begin entering personal information You must complete all required fields to move forward to next page. Note: Password (8-20 characters, must include at least one upper case, one lowercase letter, one number and one special character. Allowable characters are #@$%^.!_+). When finished click “Next” Registration is complete when you click “Finish”
Step 2: Completing your Full Registration Click “My Individual Profile” on the left hand side tool bar Click on “Personal Profile” folder (1st folder) Click on the “Background” tab; and click on “Start Background Wizard” tab. This step will automatically transfer information to your “Résumé” so that you do not have to enter the information twice. There are several easy steps, the wizard will walk you through them all, including, but not limited to: Education and Training Occupational Licenses & Certificates Work History - enter as much of your work history as possible Objective-Professional Profile Ability Summary- Summary of Qualifications Entering job type Entering desired occupation(s) Entering desired worksite location(s) Entering desired salary, etc. Click “Next”, Step 2 “your background information” is complete.
Step 3: Resume Builder Click “Resume Builder” on left side of tool bar under “Quick Menu” box Click on “Create New Résumé” Select How you want your résumé to be viewed by employers Enter Résumé Title, review all information for needed corrections before creating résumé when finished, click “Next” Click “Select Résumé & Return” OR select “Another Job Service” Save “Résumé” and “Close”
Step 4: To Look for a Job (Job Search) Click on “Job Search” on your left hand side tool bar. You have the option to search by: keyword ”Quick” Click on the “Job Title Description” you want to apply for Follow instructions to Apply for the job(s) you selected
Quick- Allows a search by keyword, occupation, salary, education level, source, or job number
Advanced- Allows a search with many filters, where you can search using numerous criteria. Employer- Search by name of employer, or an alphabetical listing by company first letter Intelligent-Crowd Search, Match Search(skills search), Pathfinder Search Education – Select job sources and choose an educational program and level; good for recent grads with little to no relevant work experience. Skills – Select job sources, then choose a match ratio (70%, 50%, 25%) for desired skill sets from your self-assessments: job, tools and technology, workplace WorkKeys® (if applicable), personal, interests, and work values. Résumé – Select one of your résumés to search for jobs that fit the skills and other criteria included in it. Click Search. Create a Virtual Recruiter Job Search Alert Save single or multiple job search After conducting a job search, at the bottom of the search results page, click Save Search. Enter a title for this Virtual Recruiter Alert. Specify how often to run the search. Select how you wish to be notified (e.g., email, system mail). Specify whether to receive “no jobs found” notification emails. Enter an expiration date (defaults to 90 days). Click Save. (Repeat process for each different type of job in which you are interested (system will allow you to establish up to 10 alerts). Assess Your Skills and Preferences (Identify an Occupation/Career to Pursue) From the Quick Menu, click My Portfolio Click on Self-Assessment Profile. (3rd tab on the right) Click on the Job Skills tab Click in Edit Job Skills Click on each of the 14 tabs and go through the list for each tab checking off those skills and abilities you have that are relevant to the type of work you are seeking. Click on Save and Continue Click on Continue (at bottom of the page) Research the Job Market for Your Geographic Area/Occupation (Labor Market Services) From the Services for Individuals menu Click Labor Market Services Labor Market Facts to explore a wealth of LMI data for any area you specify. Research Occupations From the Services for Individuals menu Click Career Services Career Informer to display the Occupations search page, where you can look up occupations using numerous criteria. Match Up Your Skills and Preferences with Occupations to Find the Ideal Career From the Services for Individuals menu Click Career Services Career Explorer and explore the links. Online Learning Resources Find Free and Online Learning Resources From the Services for Individuals menu Click Education Services Online Learning Resources. Click a desired link to learn more (links to external websites). Metrix Online Learning modules.
