Dan Manela and Laura Battaglia presented a poster associated with de Vassimon Manela et al. (Marginal Causal Flows for Validation and Inference) at the Thirty-Eighth Annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems, in Vancouver.  The paper provides a generative method using normalizing flows to simulate from causal models under the frugal parameterization.

Robin Evans has been appointed a co-director of the Imperial and Oxford Statistics and Machine Learning Centre for Doctoral Training (StatML).

Robin Evans has been appointed as a General Chair for UAI 2024, to be held in Barcelona, Spain between July 15th and 19th.

September 8th, 2023

Robin Evans received the 'Recognition of Distinction' award from the University of Oxford, and has therefore been promoted to the title of Professor.  He is now a 'Professor of Statistical Science'.

Vanessa Didelez and Robin Evans will be giving the Causal Inference Module during week 4 of APTS (Academy for PhD Training in Statistics), a programme run for first-year doctoral students in the UK.  The event will take place in Glasgow.

This week Xi Lin and Robin Evans were in Grenoble at a workshop on Fundamental Challenges in Causal Inference.  They gave talks on Combining Randomized and Observational Data, including their power likelihood approach.
