I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Statistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, advised by Claudia Solis-Lemus. My research interests are at the intersection of deep learning and phylogenetics with specific projects on the application of deep neural networks to ancestral sequence reconstruction and species network inference. During my PhD , I've also studied sparse parameter estimation in high-dimensional regression models with random effects . Before joining UW-Madison, I graduated with a BS in Math from the University of Chicago in 2019. In my free time, I enjoy reading, biking, playing basketball, and watching the NBA.
