There have been more than enough space for theories and technicalities discussed in this blog about photography, says Evan Dombroski. For today’s article, this nature photographer wants to take a walk for a while; and as though armed with a trusty camera, appreciate the outdoors for its beauty. Let us begin the trip.
To begin with, a traveling photographer must have prior knowledge of the places that he or she plans to visit. Evan Dombroski says that the internet abounds with enough resources and information about trails and nature spots, or if there’s a locality, there could be information about customs, food, cultures, and many others.
According to Evan Dombroski, being a traveler is to bring a positive attitude to your destination. Mindfulness plays a key role in this aspect. And it helps if one could sustain that for the rest of the trip, as this will be a period of discovery rather than a time to flex your skills with the camera.
Nature photographers carry a mission to spread awareness for the environment, even if they’re not totally aware about it at first. Every landscape photo, every macro image of a butterfly or a bird perched somewhere, for instance, is an invitation to extol the beauty of nature. And it also reminds us of our duty to protect them from further harm.
This brings us now to rethink our travel as not only for leisure but for a wider purpose as well. Evan Dombroski reminds shutterbugs to create a plan that hopes to minimize the impact to the environment. It is advised to bring along a lightweight dry bag to carry out waste and not leave anything behind as these could be harmful. Also avoid stepping on vegetation so much. It is preferable to step on rocks and sand, or more durable surfaces.
