Evaluating the Student Experience at UK-China Joint Institutes

HOME

How are our students doing? And how do we know?

This series of workshops seeks to bring together members of the UK-China Joint Institutes to share best practices in assessing student learning and experiences.

As Joint Institutes we have a range of issues unique to our situation: portability of content from one campus to another, quality and consistency of content, high staff turnover, teaching students whose native language is not English, and cultural differences between Western and Eastern thought. How are our students doing? How are they learning, and what is their experience? And how do we know?

What are the methods employed by each institute to assess student learning and experience? And what has been learned from these evaluations? We invite the JIA community to share how they have evaluated the student experience and what their findings were. Our aim is to learn from each other and collect best practice examples.
