Researcher and artist Eva Kroczynski has been committed to women's rights and health for 12 years. For this research and art project CONSENT, the problem was to analyze the lack of consent in women's lives. Women's rights seem to give women the chance to be free from oppression. Yet modern oppression of women finds new ways of infiltration, through a relationship, a health procedure to obtain an abortion, or through silence. Some testimonies are anonymous, the photo not identifying the person. But they express a feeling, a reality. Others have chosen to express their experience of consent through a profile photo. These portraits are in 3 parts. A love affair, abortion or silence to express the experience of consent.
An additional project for the public is in preparation.
We're currently working on a photo exhibition about abortion rights in NY and Krakow, in partnership with a photographer, a clinic, Planned Parenthood, a museum and two universities.
