Hi, I'm Yue Liu (pronounced Yüeh Liu) and I go by Eva,
a PhD Student at the School of Media Arts and Studies, Ohio University.

I am a second-year PhD student in Mass Communication. I am a feminist media researcher specializing in Chinese feminisms, popular cultures and fandom.
I have published my work in peer-reviewed journals including Feminist Media Studies, Continuum and Women's Studies International Forum. I have also presented my work on international academic conferences. I am the recipient of the John Cady Graduate Fellowship of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Outside of academic work, I am a fan of Cantonese popular music, theater, and otome games.

I have been awarded the John Cady Graduate Fellowship for my dissertation project titled Feminist Theory of Our Own: Localized Production of Feminist Knowledge, Discourse & Identities in Digital China.
The fellowship is funded through the Graduate College every year to recognize outstanding graduate students at Ohio University. The award is in the amount of $2,000 per semester.
