Welcome to the new European Society of Athletic Therapy and Training virtual museum
The European Society of Athletic Therapy and Training was a non-profit organization whose mission was health and safety promotion in Europe, through sport and education. The Society advocated for the Europe wide recognition of the Athletic Therapist/Trainer, a certified health allied profession that would fill what in some EU countries is still an important gap in their current health care settings, specifically in the practice of injury/reinjury prevention and sport rehabilitation.
Founded in Bologna (Italy) in 2008, after a meeting between the in 2006 at the IAS Satellite Meeting "Physical activity exercise and cardiovascular health" between the organizers, and a delegation of NATA and WFATT coordinated by Gene E. Verel, the European Society of Athletic Therapy and Training was a free association of experts in the fields of sports medicine, physical therapy, training, public health.
In 2010, 4-5th June, the Society held its first annual conference, in Jerzmanowice (Poland): At the forefront of athletes-care: A European framework of applicable knowledge and standards in practice.
