About the EUS

The Education Undergrad Society is a student led organization serving students in the School of Education, specifically in the Bachelor programs. In addition to being a voice for its members to faculty and school councils, the EUS is a student chapter of the Alberta Teachers' Association. $1 from each membership purchased goes directly to the ATA and gives the pre-service teacher information access, conference entry, and legal protections with that union. The EUS at RDC is Student Local No. 3.

The most important role of the EUS is in helping its members find teaching jobs once they have finished their degrees. This is done by providing members with training and work experience outside the scope of the Bachelor degree. Throughout the school year Professional Development Sessions will be booked and made available for its members to attend. A certificate of attendance will be provided as proof of training in whatever area the PD was developed to teach.

Potential employers are looking for training, but they are also seeking new teachers that have more experience to set them apart from the rest of recent graduates. Volunteering in the Reading Buddies Program, or helping serve fellow Education students are a great way to gain that something extra. Certificates listing how many hours you volunteered will also be provided for your service.

Your EUS Membership is what you make of it. Plan to be a part of what we are doing this year!
