The conference will take place at Hotel NH, in Palermo, from 29 May to 2 June 2022.

The conference will begin on Sunday (May, 29th) morning at 9 AM, and finish right after the lunch break of Thursday (June, 2nd).

Aims and Scope

The conference "Nanoscale and Microscale Heat Transfer VII" will take place in Palermo (Italy). It will be the seventh in the series of successful conferences, the last three of which took place in Lyon (2014), Santorini (2016) and Levi (2018). Its main scope is to present the state-of-the-art and the modern trends of nanoscale and microscale heat/energy transfer.

The main topics of the conference will include (and not be limited to) the following:

  • Extreme-near-field heat transport

  • Heat conduction

  • Heat transport in 2D materials and metamaterials

  • Heat transport in molecular junctions

  • Micro/Nanoscale Energy Devices and Systems (including bolometers, calorimeters, energy components, etc.)

  • Nanoscale/microscale thermal metrology

  • Near-field radiative heat transfer

  • Nonequilibrium effects, thermodynamics and devices

  • Quantum effects in heat transport and quantum thermodynamics

  • Thermal applications in biological systems

  • Thermal interface resistance

  • Thermal rectification

  • Thermoelectricity and thermophotovoltaics

  • Ultrafast heat transfer

The program features 4 tutorial sessions and 4 plenary sessions led by selected speakers (see below), complemented by contributed oral and poster presentations, covering the full range of topics.
