The European Association for Multi-Agent Systems (EURAMAS) is a non-profit organisation aimed at promoting European science and technology in the area of multiagent systems. In pursuit of its objects the Association shall engage in activities including:
Becoming a representative forum for European experts within the field of multiagent systems;
Coordinating with scientific and other institutions, organizations and other societies, including industrial companies, governments and international bodies with similar or related purposes;
Granting scholarships and making awards to promote or acknowledge research in artificial intelligence or multiagent systems;
Managing a set of “Designated Events” and ensuring their proper organisation.
The organizers of the designated event should
1. Mention EURAMAS as a sponsor/co-organizer on the web site of the event and all dissemination/advertisement material.
2. Look for additional sponsors. IFAAMAS, EURAI, AIJ, KER, Springer, ECCAI and local institutions are often prepared to sponsor events in this area.
3. Keep fees as low as possible while budgeting to leave a small profit, if possible. 30% of any profit should be transferred to EURAMAS.
4. Provide additional support for students, if possible.
5. Send the budget for approval to the EURAMAS Treasurer at least a month before the event, and a copy of the closing accounts within 12 months of the end event.
In the event of a loss, EURAMAS will cover up to 30% of that loss in a way to be agreed between EURAMAS and the organizers. For example, the local institution, or whichever organisation is managing conference/summerschool finances, may invoice EURAMAS for this amount and supply the conference/summerschool accounts. Alternatively, EURAMAS may refund invited speakers or students or pay for other eligible expenses of the designated event, for an amount of up to 30% of the loss.
EURAMAS is prepared to offer additional financial support to conferences, for instance to support speaker expenses, or student travel awards. These should be discussed with the EURAMAS board well in advance and included in the conference budget.
These guidelines were approved by the Board in office on October 28th, 2022
EURAMAS promotes scientific and technological events in the field of multiagent systems that take place in Europe. Organisers of events who seek promotion by EURAMAS should contact the EURAMAS officers. Events previously promoted by EURAMAS include:
