Researchers and practitioners interested in the eudaimonic emotional experience that can arise from video game design and play and related areas are invited to submit to this workshop. All fields and viewpoints are welcome and encouraged.
Related topics include but are not limited to the following:
games for change/games with a purpose
empathy games/deep games
designing for the mixed affect / reflective emotional experience
emotional attachment to game characters
user experience studies of games players
AI for empathic and/or emotionally engaging NPCs
exploring different types of challenge and agency in the context of emotionally resonant games
player motivational models
Paper submission is not necessary to attend and participate. However, all accepted papers will be published in ACM Proceedings following the conference.
Papers should:
be 2-4 pages long (excluding references)
use the ACM Masters Template (2 column 'sigconf' format)
be submitted as .pdf files
Papers should be submitted via EasyChair via the link for FDG 26, selecting this workshop as the track for submission.

This workshop is on-site and will not be using a hybrid approach. We encourage attendance from all interested, not just from those submitting position papers.
