Scope and Interests
Distributed computing performs an increasingly important role in modern data/signal processing, electronic commerce, mobile communications, and wireless devices. Additionally, advances in cloud computing have changed the world of computing by eliminating the requirement of owning large-scale servers by the organisations and shifting the computing tasks towards the data centres. Recently, the combination of new models of networks and distributed computing have given rise to emerging areas like Fog computing, Internet of Things, Social network analysis, Big Data management, and analytics, etc. The paradigm of fog computing, big data and IoT have been transforming every aspect of human life including healthcare, transportation, manufacturing, and energy. Similarly, Artificial intelligence has shown great impact in a variety of real-world applications due to the availability of cheaper computational power in the form of cloud computing to crunch massive data. Recent advances in machine learning and more specifically deep learning have important breakthroughs in computer vision, robotics, and Natural language processing. This first instance of the workshop will provide an interdisciplinary platform for researchers and practitioners to share innovative ideas and discuss open research questions.
The list of topics of interest includes, but is not limited to:
