Dr. Jae-Yeong Lee @ ETRI in Korea

Jae-Yeong Lee (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Wireless Communications Engineering from Kwangwoon University, Seoul, Korea, in 2008 and 2010, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Nanobio Materials and Electronics engineering from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Gwangju, Korea, in 2018.

In 2018, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Microwave, Antenna, Device and System (MADs) Laboratory, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Pohang, Korea. From 2019 to 2022, he was a Research Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, POSTECH, where he was involved in developing mmWave/THz device applications. He is currently working senior researcher with Terahertz Research Section, Superintelligence Creative Research Laboratory, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Daejeon, Korea. He is also involved in more than 15 national research projects on solid-state electronic materials and packaging-based applications of RF devices and systems. He has authored or co-authored 10 peer-reviewed international journals and 25 international conference papers on topics related to microwave/mmWave/THz applications with metamaterial structures and invented two domestic patents. His research interests include electrically reconfigurable metamaterial structures-based microwave/mmWave/THz antennas, biomedical devices for beam focusing, high power/voltage microwave/mmWave device modules for electronic warfare applications, and electric parameter extractions of solid-state materials or packaging process-based electronic devices.

Dr. Lee is the recipient and the contributor of some noteworthy recognition in his research society. First, he received the Best Paper Award Finalist granted by IEEE MTT-S at GSMM 2022 conference. Second, he received the Best Poster Presentation granted by IEIE at ICEIC 2018 conference. He is also a Reviewer of various peer-reviewed publications including the IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, IEEE Access, MDPI Electronics, MDPI Applied Sciences, MDPI Designs, MDPI Sensors, Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science. He was the Outstanding Top 100 Reviewers in the Transactions on Antennas and Propagation. He was also the Lead Guest Editor of MDPI Electronics (Special Issue on Design, Simulation, Integration, and Measurement Technologies of 5G/B5G/6G Antennas). Nowadays, he has been serving as the Special Session Corresponding-Organizer (& Corresponding-Chair) at the 2023 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting (Session title: Disruptive Fusion Technologies of Smart Antenna and Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS)).
