Dr. Manas K Mandal is currently serving as Distinguished Visiting Professor at Indian Institute of Technology - Kharagpur. He was formerly a Distinguished Scientist and Director-General - Life sciences in DRDO [2013-2016]. Prior to this, he was Chief Controller R&D (Life Sciences), DRDO. He was also the Director, Defense Institute of Psychological Research for about nine years. He completed his post-doctoral research at Delaware University as Fulbright Fellow, USA in 1986-87, and at Waterloo University as an International Scientific Exchange Awardee, Canada in 1993-94. He has been a Professor of Psychology at the Department of HSS, IIT-Kharagpur, prior to joining DRDO in 2004. He was also a Visiting Professor at Kyushu University in Japan in 1997 & 2010-11. During 2003, he was a Fulbright Visiting Lecturer at Harvard University, USA.
Anirban has done his PhD on Evolutionary Game Theory from the department of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research at IIT Bombay. He worked at the Interdisciplinary Statistical Research Unit of Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata as a Visiting Scientist. He has worked as an Assistant Professor at the IIM Visakhapatnam for almost three years. Parallelly, he teaches at IIM Amritsar for their MBA program. He also worked as a Visiting Professor at IIM Indore for their IPM, PGPMX, and EPGP program. Anirban's teaching interests are Statistics, Econometrics, Game Theory and various versions of it e.g. Behavioral Game Theory, Evolutionary Game Theory etc. His research interest lies in application of game theoretic modeling in human behavioral domain. Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan is currently working as General Manager (Data Analytics) at the Centre for Railway Information Systems, the IT arm of Indian Railways, at New Delhi. As a Singapore-MIT alliance research fellow, he completed his PhD in Discrete Choice Modeling from the Singapore University of Technology and Design in 2019. He has a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. An officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service of the 1998 Civil Services Examination, he has wide experience in railway transport planning, operations, commercial, and IT functions. He has been recognized with the national award for outstanding service by the Ministry of Railways. Dr. Sanjay Bhat is a Senior Consultant at Tata Consultancy Services. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 1992. Dr. Sanjay received his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from University of Michigan. Prof. Sushil Kumar is a Professor of Food and Agribusiness, Business Sustainability and Human Resource Management in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. Prior to joining IIM Lucknow in April 2005, he was SSHRC postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, Toronto (Canada) from where he completed his Doctoral studies too. Earlier, he was a Member of the prestigious All India Service - Indian Forest Services (IFS) - belonging to the 1988 batch. He has worked as Dean (Academic Affairs) at IIM Lucknow for three years and Dean, School of Management, and Dean (Academics) at Gautam Buddha University for one year.
Professor Anshuman's research interests cover the areas of Market Microstructure, Capital Markets, and Corporate Financial Management Issues in Emerging Markets. His publications have appeared in the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial Markets, etc. He has co-authored a book titled Valuation – Analyzing Global Investment Opportunities.
In addition to experience in academia, he has consulted with various blue-chip companies. He is a member of the Certification Formulation and Testing Committee (CFTC) and Futures & Options (F&O) Executive Committee of the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Professor of Finance Avanidhar (Subra) Subrahmanyam (Ph.D. ’90) is an expert in stock market activity and behavioral finance. He is known for his pathbreaking research in the use of psychological principles to explain stock price movements and has published numerous articles in leading peer-reviewed finance and economics journals. Appearing frequently in the media, Subrahmanyam is consulted for his expertise on the superior performance of value stocks and the phenomenon of stock market momentum to analyze spikes in gasoline prices, herd-like behavior around Apple stock, uncertainty in everyday use of the bitcoin crypto-currency and the effects of war on the stock market. Subrahmanyam’s current research interests range from the relationship between the trading environment of a firm’s stock and the firm’s cost of capital to behavioral theories for asset price behavior and empirical determinants of the cross-section of equity returns.
Prof. Abhishek Mishra has done his Ph.D. from IIM Lucknow. His doctoral thesis dealt with the topic ‘Effect of Product Design Perception on Brand Equity’. He holds B.Tech (Metallurgy) degree from IIT, Roorkee and PGDM (Marketing) from FORE School of Management in 2001 and 2004 respectively. Before joining the doctoral programme at IIM Lucknow, he has worked as a Management Consultant at Holcim, Research Consultant with Millward Brown-IMRB as well as an entrepreneur for a startup named Syndicate Infoservices. He also has teaching experience as a faculty member, before joining his PhD, with ICFAI University and School of Management Sciences.
He has 16 peer-reviewed journal paper publications, including 9 in ABDC listed ones like Journal of Business Research, Journal of Brand Management and others, as well as 7 paper presentations at premier international conferences of repute, like AMA, AMS and EMCB hosted ones. His current research interests include Product Design, Product Management, Brand Management and Brand Equity. His teaching interests include Product Management, Brand Management and Advanced Research Methods.
Raj Raghunathan earned his PhD from the Stern School of Business at New York University and is currently employed as a professor of marketing at the McCombs School of Business, the University of Texas at Austin. Raj’s work juxtaposes theories from psychology, behavioral sciences, decision theory and marketing to document and explain interrelationships between affect and consumption behavior. Raj’s work has been published in top marketing and psychology journals such as, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Marketing, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Motivation and Emotion, and the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. His work has also been cited in the popular press, such as The New York Times, the Austin American Statesman, and Self magazine. Raj was recognized as a Marketing Science Young Scholar in 2005 for his contributions to the field of Marketing, and was recently awarded the prestigious NSF Career Award (for $440,000).
