The "challenge" is primarily on consistency - i.e., whether I could finish them with consistent effort put aside to read them. Growing up without reading much and living in the age of short-term attention span and instantaneous availability of information, this is one attempt to fix my (lack of) reading habits.

During my PhD it was also easy for me to give up on reading technical monographs especially those from the pure mathematics. So some of the books below may be mathematics rather than physics.
