I am a senior researcher at the Norwegian Research Centre NORCE and the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research.
My research focuses on understanding the climate system and how to use that this to guide better choices in society. I study climate dynamics, applying theory, observations, and models of varying complexity to reveal how large-scale circulation shapes weather and climate.
From this foundation, I study weather and climate predictability, examining both its sources and its limits, and how predictive information can be turned into actionable knowledge. This scientific insight then feeds into my work on climate services, where I collaborate with public and private partners to design solutions that support adaptation to weather- and climate-related risks.
