The course gives the student insight into the interaction between the environment and energy production and use. In particular, the course focuses on the environmental challenges associated with the energy transition. The topic allows the students to quantify the environmental footprint of energy-related activities and to broaden their knowledge about contemporary and future energy issues.
The course gives an introduction to selected topics relevant for the utilization of offshore wind energy. The course gives the students basic insight about the wind over the ocean and how the wind energy can be extracted.
The course addresses selected topics relevant for the utilization of ocean-based energy, with focus on offshore wind energy. The course is a continuation ENERGI321, Offshore Wind Energy, part I. Techniques for numerical generation of wind fields and aerodynamic analysis are discussed. Further, dynamic response of marine structures and extraction of wave energy are addressed.
