An Ethernet cable connection is the most stable and recommended for use in professional environments. In most cases, the local network (LAN) already exists and is connected to a cash register PC or management system.
πΉ Standard procedure
Connect the POS printer with an Ethernet cable to the local switch or router already used for the cash register.
Turn on the printer while holding down the paper feed button: a receipt will print with the assigned IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.120).
Open the Labels app, go to Printer Settings β Wi-Fi, and enter the printed IP address.
Press Test Connection to verify the connection.
If the test printout is correct, press Save Wi-Fi to save the connection.
π‘ Tip: The network does not need to have Internet access. The printer and cash register simply need to be on the same local circuit (LAN).
πΈ If you don't know the network password
In many stores, the network is closed and managed by technicians: often, the Wi-Fi password or router settings are not accessible to the user. In this case, you can:
Option 1 β Ask the technician for the password or IP address. If you have access to the router or if the technician can help, ask them to provide the Wi-Fi password or IP address of the printer already connected.
Option 2 β Add your own router (recommended)
Connect an additional router (for which you know the password) to the existing network switch.
Connect the POS printer to this router (via cable or Wi-Fi).
Print the configuration receipt to obtain the new IP address.
Enter that address into the Labels app and test the connection.
π§ An existing printer can also be used, if you can retrieve its IP address via the configuration receipt printed directly from the device.
USB connection is the easiest and quickest way to connect the POS printer directly to your Android device or PC.
πΉ Procedure
Connect the POS printer to your device (phone, tablet, or PC) via USB cable.
If your Android device has a USB-C port, use a standard USB to USB-C adapter.
Alternatively, you can use an OTG (On-The-Go) cable compatible with the printer.
Turn on the POS printer.
Open the Labels app β Printer Settings β USB.
Press Test Connection to verify the connection.
β οΈ Note: The first time you connect, Android may ask for permission to access the printer. Confirm the request to allow the app to communicate properly with the device.
