Theoretical Applications

Care Ethics: promotes attention to the creation of new relationships and maintenance of existing relationships. It promotes attention to our community and the value of caring.

By doing this project with our community we have made outstanding relationships with the staff of Chatfield Elementary and the community it supports. We have made professional and personal relationships with these people. It specifically showed during our fundraiser how many people came and supported the cause. One of the counselors at Chatfield Elementary was very passionate with our project and very eager to help. It also proved true with the staff and the surrounding community that came out that evening.

Family was very supportive of the cause and I was surprised how many of my family showed that night to support our project. It has improved our relationship drastically. I am very thankful that so many people felt passionate about the subject. My relationship with the school counselors has also been very positive experience. They have shown honest sincere support in helping my group achieve its goal. In advertising our project we made hundreds of flyers to distribute around the community specifically focused toward educational facilities. We also focused publicity on social media and the internet.

Our project manifests care aimed toward the well being of students at Chatfield that have higher needs focused toward social and emotional care. The care I believe is to be genuine toward these individuals even though we did not meet them on a personal level I believe them to be positively effected with the awareness they received and the care given to them through the process. We as a group genuinely care for the individuals effected throughout this project.

To care for a certain person doesn't mean you actually have to like them to show support for them. Care can vary through their well being to caring for them on a personal level. By making the effort to raise money for the Counseling Department at Chatfield I believe we have shown care ethics for the individual children at the school to the staff that cares for them on a daily basis throughout the school year.
