In 2015, Jack Astor's staff were charged with assaulting animal rights activists by pouring hot water, vinegar and tobasco from a rooftop. Jack Astor's is a large chain of of restaurants owned and operated in Canada. The corporation that controls Jack Astor's operates over 60 locations and situated in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Canada, and New York, corporately owned by Service Inspired Restaurants. In 2018 Jack Astor's continued to attack vegans, with a large message on a billboard and advertising campaign followed by attacks on vegans posted in social media, including a snide, sarcastic apology as can be seen in the application we brought before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
