March 4th - Safety Abroad Seminar via Zoom (more details forthcoming), 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
March 10th - Mandatory IPENG Study Abroad Orientation, 5:00 - 7:00 pm, 0035 CIF
March 23rd - LAS 291 Begins this week
Host School Application: March 25th
April 9th - (Mandatory) Peer Perspectives Ask Away! Time and Location TBD
Optional: Make an appointment with your doctor or the McKinley Travel Clinic to discuss your health while abroad https://mckinley.illinois.edu/travel-consults-and-service
As soon as you receive official acceptance: Upload your Host University Acceptance letter to My Study Abroad
Begin preparing documentation for your Student Visa and verify your passport is valid for 6 months AFTER your program end date
Tasks to complete in My Study Abroad:
By the end of March:
“Attend IPENG Study Abroad Orientation meeting” will be marked complete after you attend the meeting by the IPENG staff.
Read and electronically sign the Post-Decision Documents (submitted online in My Study Abroad)
Complete the student Pre-Departure Assessments – 4 total (submitted online in My Study Abroad)
Course Approvals:
All Students: Follow the course approval instructions for your college as listed on the Education Abroad website
Engineering Students: Refer to the Course Approval page on this Google Site for more specific engineering deadlines and submission instructions
Prior to Departure:
Travel itinerary (submit online in My Study Abroad)
When You Return:
Complete required documentation at host university to have transcript sent to the Illinois Registrar's Office
Recipients of the Grainger Engineering International Travel Scholarship must submit their scholarship projects
Complete LAS 291/292 Assignments
Tie up loose ends in country (review the "Returning Home" tab)
