As a librarian, I have come across students who have struggled in the classroom and would benefit from the assistance of a TA chatbot. As educators, we have mixed feelings about these AI applications however, I see great benefit in integrated chatbots in higher education to address the different learning needs of students. But, most importantly we must ensure that accessibility issues are addressed. As a MET student, I realize that technology is advancing but so is digital inequality.

I'm currently working as a web developer however I'm aspiring to become an instructional designer for higher education. This independent study on chatbots in the online classroom is my final Master of Educational Technology course at the University of British Columbia.
