The longing of my best-friend after years being atttched to the hip for years.  During one of the most difficult parts of my highschool career, my best-friend moved across the globe, and I lost my support, second home, and the closest thing to a sister I had.  During this time, all I could think of was reuniting with her.

Seeing online how credit for Latino culture was being taken away by non-Latinos, ET wanted to express the feeling through her Nicaraguan heritage.  The Gordas represent beauty, prosperity, and life in the town of San Juan de Limay, and one of the statues at the entrance of the town holds a basket.  With the imagery and history of these Nicaraguan statues, ET uses the basket to represent Latino culture, as something which means to be prosperous and life giving, is left with nothing.
