The ET ECR Workshop 2026 is a community gathering focused on networking, collaboration, and learning. We value every participant’s involvement and want all attendees to have an enjoyable, fulfilling experience. Therefore, all participants are expected to treat others with respect and courtesy throughout the workshop and to follow this Code of Conduct. Concerns may be brought in confidence to the workshop organizers. Thank you for helping make this a welcoming, friendly event for everyone.
The participants of the ET ECR Workshop 2026 come from a global community with diverse skills, personalities, and experiences. Our community succeeds and continues to grow because of these differences. We expect everyone to follow these guidelines when interacting with others both inside and outside our community. Our aim is to keep our community positive, inclusive, successful, and growing.
As members of the community,
We pledge to treat everyone with respect and to maintain an environment free from harassment and bullying, regardless of sex, sexual orientation and/or gender identity, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, nationality, ethnicity, and religion. In particular, sexualized language or imagery and sexist, racist, or otherwise exclusionary jokes are not acceptable.
We pledge to respect others’ work by honoring original authors’ requests for acknowledgment or citation. As authors, we will be explicit about how we wish our own work to be cited or acknowledged.
We pledge to welcome those interested in joining the community, recognizing that a range of opinions and backgrounds enriches us. Discussions about the pros and cons of various technologies, programming languages, and related topics are welcome, but must be conducted respectfully, taking proactive steps to ensure all participants are heard and feel confident expressing their views.
We pledge to welcome questions and answer them respectfully, with particular attention to those who are new to the community.
We pledge to be mindful of how the wider community perceives us and to respond to criticism respectfully. We will strive to model behavior that encourages productive debate and disagreement, both within our community and when we are criticized. We will treat those outside our community with the same respect as those within it.
We pledge to help the entire community uphold this code of conduct and not remain silent when we observe violations. We will take action when members of our community violate this code, such as notifying a workshop organizer or speaking privately with the person.
This code of conduct applies to all community contexts online and offline, including the workshop itself, mailing lists, forums, social media, social events associated with the workshop, and one-on-one interactions.
Anyone asked to stop harassing behavior is expected to comply immediately. Attendees who violate these rules may be asked to leave the event at the sole discretion of the workshop organizers.
This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Astropy Community Code of Conduct, the Python in Astronomy Code of Conduct, and the .Astronomy Code of Conduct.
