Ensheng is an associate research scientist at Columbia University/NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies. His research focuses on modeling terrestrial ecosystem, biogeochemical cycles, and responses of ecosystems to climate change. He uses the approaches of mathematical modeling, simulation of ecosystem processes, and game theory to understand plant ecophysiological processes and their effects on ecosystem structure, carbon, nutrient, and water cycles across various scales. Ensheng received his PhD in ecology from Chinese Academy of Sciences and University of Oklahoma.
