I installed ESET Mobile Security on my Android Mobile phone did a few scans and all was well. Then on Good Friday 14th April it refused to accept my password. I sent a request from my locked phone for a 'Reset password' Code request via my email. This is now the 19th April and after NUMEROUS requests from my phone, online via Laptop to customer service I am STILL locked out because I never received ONE email. All over Easter I could hear messages coming through to my phone but I couldn't read or answer them, also I was unable to phone family, friends or colleagues over the Easter period and I am very angry about this. and on top of this I am unable to send photos and videos to my love ones STILL. Can someone please help!!!

There are few ways to setup the password protection, and therefore sometimes different options for resetting or disabling. Based on what you've indicated, it sounds like you may have setup Antitheft, and so you should try to reset the password via my.eset.com (or disable Antitheft from there).

You tried to Sign in to ESET AntiTheft -theft.eset.com/?wrfsts=true and your email and password didn't work? What I hear happening sometimes is that when some users setup their phones, there's an option to create the ESET AntiTheft login, but users don't realize they're creating a new login--can you try the Forgot password on the Sign in page to reset the anti-theft.com account login, then once you're back in there (assuming that you did create one and can get back in with that email, hopefully you didn't sign up with a bogus/fake email) then try resetting the EMS password following steps 3-5

I went to the anti- theft link you suggested typed in my email and got this...An email with instructions to reset your my.eset.com account has been sent to the email address you specified. AGAIN I went to my email and there is nothing from Eset anywhere in my account the same applies to your app on my locked out phone under Reset password...Code requested which when I tap 'states' THAT "ESET will send you an email with the verification code and instructions on how to reset your password". What is this ? Why are you not fulfilling this so called action so as to allow me to have access to what is rightfully mine, I do not remember signing up to this nightmare your software and company have been able to achieve. What is your problem??? Just give me the unlock code duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there anyone there??? Just like your customer service I guess NOT. By the way the ONLY email I got from your company was the one from you to me, to validate the link to this site...how ironic in that I have to come here to try to get redress for an non-action nay an obligation to reset my password, which you have failed to do, just like you are failing on this forum to do by not helping me. What is the problem??? Can someone answer this question, which at least 'foneil' tried..Respect to her or him.

If you have defined "trusted contacts", just ask them to send SMS to your phone in the desired format, "eset remote reset" which should unlock your phone. I have never used other ways, but this one works for sure.

could you please tap on Forgotten password and then tap on Customer Care? You will see a code, e.g. AB4567-17042015. Could you please contact us on play@eset.com and provide the code that will appear? We will sent you your unlock code manually and provide more assistance.

In my office computer, before upgrading my Eset Smart Security software to the Premium version, I was already paying for Eset mobile security on my Android phone. I was wondering how to modify the Eset license on my phone so as not to pay twice for the same service. Thank you

It protects you when online browsing on your mobile or tablet, as well as your physical device in case it gets lost. Stay protected when you connect for social networking, shopping and more. Enlist the powerful Antivirus, Anti-Phishing and proactive Anti-Theft protection. The product is available in both free & premium version, the latter offering a richer set of features.

During September 2017 we evaluated 21 mobile security products for Android using their default settings. We always used the most current version of all products for the testing. They were allowed to update themselves at any time and query their in-the-cloud services. We focused on malware detection and usability, including performance and false positives. Products had to demonstrate their capabilities using all components and protection layers.

Anti-theft and SIM Protection

ESET's anti-theft tools are very, very different from those of other Android security suites. Just about everyone else, including Google's Android Device Manager, provides a Web portal to enable anti-theft features remotely. ESET, on the other hand, takes an entirely mobile view. Instead of a website, you send special SMS commands to remotely control your device. While other security apps include SMS controls as an extra, it's the only option in ESET.

While I really like SMS commands in general, and I appreciate trying to design specifically for mobile, I'm uncomfortable with ESET's SMS-only system. While it improves on other SMS control schemes, I think it's neither better nor safer to find a friend to remote control your phone as opposed to using a web portal. If you've just been robbed of your phone, how will you call a friend to ask them to send the messages to your device? What if your friends aren't around? I much prefer having SMS as a component, not the core, of an anti-theft scheme. This keep control of my phone where it belongs: in my hands.

5. You will now be presented with User Consent options. ESET mobile security can run without allowing any of these options, but some features work better or offer more protection if you consent. Tap to check the box next to each option, or tap Allow All at the bottom to enable all. Then tap Next.

The resulting restrictions imposed on apps targeting the latest Android version have affected mobile security vendors, among others. Their apps require all available device permissions, including device admin rights, if they are to fully monitor and control the device, and protect sensitive user data against security threats.

Because of all these changes, mobile security apps might provide clearer explanations to users when requesting access to sensitive device areas and setting up in-app security features (e.g., anti-theft).

In regions such as the United States and Europe, only two official app stores dominate the mobile app market: Google Play and the Apple App Store. The risk of inadvertently downloading and installing malware from Google Play is small, as the app store is regularly checked for fraudulent and dangerous apps. However, in many Asian countries, especially China, the risk of being infected by malware is much higher. There are many app stores provided by various third-party vendors, and many smartphones are rooted as well. There are about 1.69 billion active mobile devices in China, and about 65% of them run Android as the operating system. The most used Android app stores are shown in the doughnut chart above. Google Play is used by almost no one (

Smartphones are now commonly used as popular PC substitutes for a variety of daily tasks such as online shopping, banking, instant messaging, video conferencing, and emailing. However, with the increasing sophistication of cyber-attacks, mobile devices are becoming a prime target, particularly through fraudulent apps that aim to steal user data or money. These malicious apps often disguise themselves as fake versions of popular apps that have been downloaded by millions of users from Google Play. To minimize the risk of falling victim to these threats, we recommend following the guidance provided in this report.

Stay cautious and vigilant when receiving suspicious links via text messages, emails, instant messenger chats, or social media. If the sender is unknown, mark the message as spam or delete it immediately. It is also crucial to keep your mobile device updated with the latest security patches and Android version to address device and API vulnerabilities.

In this section, we provide a concise overview of key security components commonly found in Android security products. The primary component is the malware scanner which safeguards users from unintentionally installing malicious apps on their device. Similar to antivirus programs for Windows, Android mobile security apps incorporate various protection features. The real-time protection actively scans new and existing apps for any malicious behaviour. The on-demand scanner examines the device, including internal storage and/or external SD card, for malicious apps that are already installed or downloaded APK files that have not yet been run.

As in our previous investigations, we measured the additional power consumption caused by each of the mobile security products. Testing the battery usage of a device might appear to be very straightforward at first glance. If one goes into more detail, the difficulties become apparent. Particularly with mobile phones, the usage patterns of different users are very varied.

In our test, we found that all the tested mobile security products had only a minor influence on battery life, as outlined in the table below. In general, we were able to give the tested mobile security apps high marks regarding power usage. be457b7860
