I was born and raised in Nassau, The Bahamas, in a low socio-economic community. Both of my parents migrated from Haiti in search of a better life for my siblings and me. As a first-generation college graduate, my personal and familial background created a passion for public service and helping individuals in marginalized communities. Growing up in a high-crime neighborhood led to my interest in finding evidence-based solutions to youth programs targeting at-risk youths and enhancing the quality of public and nonprofit agencies. Since relocating from Nassau, The Bahamas, in 2013 to the United States, I have received an Associate Degree from Valencia College and my Bachelor's in Public Administration, a Master's in Public Administration, and a Certificate in Leadership Studies from Florida International University. I also received my Ph.D. in Public Affairs from Florida International University.
As a Haitian-Bahamian, I carry the resilience of two proud cultures—each shaped by struggle, strength, and an unwavering commitment to community.
