About

I grew up in Seattle, Washington with a fascination for the world and the internet. At eighteen, I spent nine months traveling east around the globe. During the trip, I worked in a Hare Krishna temple, drove from Amsterdam to Zagreb, found love in Turkey, and fought a forest fire in India. I gained a deep respect for cultures that are not my own, learned to speak with just hand gestures and non-verbal sounds, and honed my ability to problem solve under immense pressure.

Volunteering has always been a constant for me. Throughout my time in university, I taught digital literacy skills, delivered furniture to those that needed it, and consulted nonprofits in Bolivia and Washington state. Volunteering taught me to stay humble and communicate with a broad range of people and continues to shape my outlook on the world.

At twenty-three, I graduated with my bachelor's in Global Affairs and went commercial salmon fishing in Alaska for a final time. There, I lived on a seven-meter boat with a 76-year-old fisherman. These were the best and worst of times during which I learned to appreciate elder knowledge while improving my debate and communication skills.

After Alaska, I moved to Amsterdam for graduate school. For work, I became a feet-on-the-street canal tour salesperson in the Red Light District, as well as a waiter in Amsterdam's LGBTQ neighborhood. I used my communication skills to customize messages to specific audiences and close hundreds of sales.

At twenty-five, I moved to Berlin to be with my partner of three years. I've put down roots consulting a social enterprise, starting a podcast, and organizing for issues that matter most to me. I manage a team of committed volunteers and forge relationships with partners around the world.
