Aeronautical Engineer (UPC, 2009), M.Sc. in Advanced Lightweight Structures and Impact (Cranfield University, 2011) and Ph.D. in Structural Analysis (2016, UPC). My doctoral research consisted in developing constitutive models for growth and remodelling in biological tissues. I was awarded the “Premi Extraordinari de Doctorat” by the UPC for my doctoral work. After defending my thesis, I stayed for a short postdoc in CIMNE where I applied the models developed during my Ph.D. research to a clinically-relevant project. In Oct 2016, I moved to Erlangen, Germany for a two-year postdoc in brain mechanics at FAU. In Jan 2019, I joined Northeastern University in Boston to study the mechanobiology of vertebrate joint morphogenesis. Shortly after starting this new postdoc position, I won a Marie Curie Global Fellowship which entailed a 2-year outgoing phase at Northeastern and a 1-year return phase at the UPC. In May 2021 I returned to Barcelona, where I won a position as Serra Húnter tenure-eligible Lecturer at the UPC. In May 2024 I joined the CAMMS group in CIMNE. I finally obtained tenure in April 2025, and I'm now a Serra Húnter Associate Professor at the UPC.
