I previously purchased the essential anatomy 5 app on my MacBook. Does anyone know if there is a way to have it on multiple devices, such as my phone, without re-purchasing? Or do you have to buy the entire app for each device?

The app is very user-friendly, and our aim is to provide an application that is as simple to use as possible. If you are a medical student, you can use this application to help you to study anatomy and to aid your learning. You can also use this app to help you understand the different structures in the body.

In view of the importance of anatomy and it's variations in injuries caused during cholecystectomy it is logical to look at the possibility of assessing the anatomy accurately with the help of imaging before or during the performance of a cholecystectomy.

Most cholecystectomies are performed after identification of gallstone disease on ultrasound examination. Although on occasion an ultrasound examination can predict gross distortions of anatomy like the Mirizzi syndrome, in the usual case it does not throw any light on anatomical relations. Thus knowledge of the specific anatomy in that individual is not available to the surgeon preoperatively as a routine. If a cholangiogram in the form of a magnetic resonance cholangio pancreatography (MRCP) or an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has been performed for some reason, it may reveal anomalies like the presence of accessory ducts or a low insertion of cystic duct.

Methods to assess anatomy during the surgery are perhaps more relevant. The first and foremost (and perhaps the most reliable) is clean dissection and accurate visual identification of the contents of the Calot's triangle especially the cystic artery and duct. The role of a routine intraoperative cholangiogram in delineating biliary anatomy and in turn preventing misidentification has been a subject of a long and intense debate amongst biliary surgeons but there is conflicting evidence on its value.[2] In reality most biliary surgeons do not perform a routine intraoperative cholangiogram but use it selectively. In any case, unless it is performed through the gallbladder, once a duct has been opened for a cholangiogram in case it is the bile duct this actually constitutes a partial injury. Also a cholangiogram may not delineate all aberrant ducts and does not provide any insight into arterial anatomy.

ANAT 30 - Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology4 units

2 hours lecture, 6 hours lab

Recommended Preparation: ENGL 84

Credit, degree applicable

Transfer CSU, UC*

This course is the study of anatomy coupled with physiology. Students compare the structure and function of human organ systems to those of other vertebrates. The laboratory includes dissection of sheep brains and hearts, cow eyes and other vertebrates. Laboratory experiments reinforce principles of anatomy and the basic principles of chemistry, cell biology, histology, embryology, and genetics.

Note: This course may satisfy the anatomy requirements for other health-related programs. It does not satisfy the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The maximum UC credit allowed for students completing Anatomy 30, ANAT 32 , and PHYO 31 is two courses.

The app represents a unique approach to learning general anatomy. The graphics are unparalleled and make learning, through the use of informative content and innovative features, a rich and engaging experience. Essential Anatomy 3 is responsive, visually stunning and effortless. The app is fully 3D, meaning that you can view any anatomic structure in isolation, as well as from any angle.

The Imaging Anatomy web site is a basic atlas of normal imaging anatomy of domestic animals. It is designed as an aid for veterinary students beginning their study of diagnostic imaging. It is not meant to be a comprehensive reference of imaging anatomy. It is also not meant to present the range of variation across breeds of the domestic animals. The site is the result of the work of Gerald J. Pijanowski, DVM, PhD and Steve Kneller, DVM, MS, DACVR, along with the design wizardry of Nancy Oliver of the Design Group. The overlays used to highlight various structures on each image are the result of the hard work of Seth Kramer, Class of 2011. Thanks to the research of Seth Kramer, the color palate used should accomodate the common forms of color blindness. Any errors, omissions or other mistakes are the responsibilty of the creators. Your comments and suggestions are invited. Please e-mail them to designgroup@vetmed.illinois.edu.

While the relevance of anatomy to medical diagnosis and treatment continually evolves, anatomical knowledge will always be instrumental to effective treatment of patients. Building on the tradition of the highly acclaimed prior editions, Anatomy: An Essential Textbook, Third Edition by Anne M. Gilroy features new learning components that leverage the Thieme companion, Atlas of Anatomy, Fourth Edition. Concise, bulleted text paired with large, detailed anatomic figures enhance visual learning and retention of knowledge.

Organized by eight units, the book starts with basic concepts and a general overview of anatomic systems. Subsequent units focused on regional anatomy cover the Back, Thorax, Abdominal Wall and Inguinal Region, Pelvis and Perineum, Upper Limb, Lower Limb, and Head and Neck. Each unit includes a chapter on the practical application of regional imaging and extensive question sets with detailed explanations. A new ordering of chapters now mirrors the revised organization of the Atlas and sequence of dissections in most gross anatomy programs.

e-Anatomy is a high-quality anatomy and imaging content atlas. It is the most complete reference of human anatomy available on the Web, iPad, iPhone and Android devices. The five senses include sight, sound, taste, hearing and touch. Sight, like the other senses is closely related to other parts of our anatomy. The eye is connected to the brain and dependent upon the brain to interpret what we see.

Videos have become a popular visual hook applied to the hero section mentioned above. As well, we can come across many other types of videos that help users quickly catch the idea of a product, set the atmosphere, send the needed message, engage in trying the service, demonstrate how the tool, app, or software works, share feedback from users, and so on, and so forth. However, there are essential points to consider, such as loading time, contrast issue, responsiveness, and other pitfalls that can spoil user experience in the case of video integration into a web page.
