Vaping & Stereotypes
In this learning activity, students will generate a list of common stereotypes associated with gamers. Using a T-chart, they will categorize these stereotypes as positive or negative. After completing the chart, students will reflect on whether certain stereotypes can have both positive and negative aspects and discuss how these perceptions might influence behavior and attitudes within the gaming community.
Healthy Gaming
Students will explore various types of esports advertisements using a Thinglink Scenario. Afterward, they will choose a brand they would like to partner with. Using the Analyzing Influences worksheet, students will reflect on how indirect influences, such as targeted marketing and peer perceptions, may have impacted their choices. They will then discuss how these influences could shape their behaviors and attitudes as consumers and gamers.
Stress
In this activity, students will identify their current stressors and write them down. They will then brainstorm and explore healthy alternatives for coping with these everyday stressors. Afterward, students will reflect on how adopting these positive coping strategies can improve their well-being and discuss the potential impact of healthier habits on managing stress in their daily lives.
